Diaz Nesamoney is an accomplished technology entrepreneur who founded three successful technology companies. Currently Diaz is Founder, President, and CEO of Jivox, a company that provides a technology platform for personalized advertising. He was previously Cofounder, President, and Chief Operating Officer at Informatica (NASDAQ:INFA), which he took from a startup to a publicly traded company in 1999. Before founding Jivox, he founded Celequest, raised more than $20 million in venture capital, and served as its CEO until early 2007, when the company was acquired by Cognos/IBM. Celequest introduced the market’s first business intelligence and analytics appliance, a disruptive innovation that led to its acquisition. Diaz is a board member of the American India Foundation, a leading international development organization charged with the mission of accelerating social and economic change in India. Diaz is also a member of the Board of Trustees at the World Affairs Council. Probably the worst Cisco Press book I have read. I am currently a CCNP Voice/Collaboration holder and I picked this up to bolster my video knowledge in preparation for a recert. Just perusing the book through other topics I realized how light the book is on actual depth of topic. It doesn't give great examples on dial-peers or QOS and then follows it up with very little explanation on the examples it gives. If I was new to Collaboration outside of the CCNA I don't think I would get a very good foundation with this book. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of good options but Cisco really needs to take a look at their CiscoPress line. I have kept most of my books just to be able to read through sometimes but this one won't receive the same shelf life. I will most likely be tossing this book out or donating as soon as I pass the exam(which I doubt this book will actually help me pass).

Probably covers 85 to 90 percent of what's on the exam if you read between the lines. Not a great book. In particular the section on Telepresence was horrible. I ended up reading the SRND as well as watching some of the videos through CiscoLIve to have a better understanding. I've been managing call mgr for about 4 years but Telepresence not so much. So it would have nice if they went into the video architecture in more depth. The other chapters are ok I guess. Probably would need more than this book to pass the exam.

Cisco themselves have claimed this book is not a complete resource to study for the exam. Quite disappointing.

About the Author
is currently Director and Professor of Women Studies at University of California-Irvine. She received her Ph.D. in English from the University of California at Berkeley. A founder of Narika, an agency that addresses the needs of South Asian women in the U.S., she works with activist groups that focus on Asian women and immigration issues. She has authored a monograph and co-edited several books and journal issues, often with her long time collaborator Caren Kaplan. Her special interests include the history of British imperialism, non-western women travelers, consumer culture and globalization, South Asian women in diaspora, and the new transnational feminist activism

Caren Kaplan is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Women's Studies at the University of California at Davis. After receiving her Ph.D. in the History of Consciousness Program at the University of California at Santa Cruz, she served on the faculty in the Department of English at Georgetown University from 1986 to 1992. The author of a monograph as well as the co-editor of several books, she has collaborated with Inderpal Grewal for many years on essays and edited collections. Her special interests are the history of Western and international feminism, feminist theory, and aspects of imperialism and globalization such as travel, tourism, and information technologies.

About the Author
Ralph Scurlock, is Emeritus Professor of Cryogenic Engineering, and formerly Director of the Institute of Cryogenics, University of Southampton, UK. In 1999, Ralph Scurlock was selected by the CEC for the Samuel C. Collins Award for his work on cryogenic technology. He was the first person from outside the USA to be awarded this prestigious prize. He is the author of many papers and several books including "Low Temperature Behaviour of Solids", 1965, "History and Origins of Cryogenics",1994, and "Low Loss Dewars and Tanks", 2004.

About the Author
Robert L. Gould (Ph.D., University of California--San Diego) is a leader in the statistics education community. He has served as chair of the American Statistical Association's Committee on Teacher Enhancement, has served as chair of the ASA's Statistics Education Section, and was a co-author of the "Guidelines for Assessment in Instruction on Statistics Education (GAISE) College Report." As the associate director of professional development for CAUSE (Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education), he has worked closely with the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) to provide traveling workshops and summer institutes in statistics (he also presented an AMATYC summer institute in 2009). For over ten years, he has served as Vice-Chair of Undergraduate Studies at the UCLA Department of Statistics, and he is Director of the UCLA Center for the Teaching of Statistics. In 2012, Rob was elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association. Colleen N. Ryan has taught statistics, chemistry, and physics to diverse community college students for decades. She taught at Oxnard College from 1975 to 2006, where she earned the Teacher of the Year Award. Colleen currently teaches statistics part-time at California Lutheran University. She often designs her own lab activities. Her passion is to discover new ways to make statistical theory practical, easy to understand, and sometimes even fun. Colleen earned a B.A. in physics from Wellesley College, an M.A.T. in physics from Harvard University, and an M.A. in chemistry from Wellesley College. Her first exposure to statistics was with Frederick Mosteller at Harvard.
