I highly do not recommend this review book. I'm in Ap Hug right now and looking through this book I found a lot of basic mistakes (ex. The definition of agricultural density is wrong). I recommend buying the REA or Kaplan books instead since with this book you will likely be studying the wrong facts.

The following written by my 15 year old freshman son: This textbook was an excellent buy. It includes all major aspects and units of human geography. It is a really good refresher, includes practice exams, writings, and questions. Everything was explained with in depth, and the practice was almost like the test. The book was easy to read and was involved in every step of solving a question, and went over everything in great depth. I bought the book about a month and a half before the test and used it as a review/refresher. You must commit.All in all 5/5.

It helped prepare for the exam, but I preferred the Barronâ€™s book version to be honest because that one was more concise. Princeton Review had a lot of excellent examples but also many unnecessary ones. I ended up using Barronâ€™s about 70% of the time and this one about 30%. If you need to cram last minute, get Barronâ€™s not this. If youâ€™re looking for a book to help throughout the school year with good in-depth explanations, diagrams, and current examples, buy Princeton Reviewâ€™s book. Iâ€™m confident Iâ€™ll score a 5 when scores come out in a few weeks, but weâ€™ll see.

I bought the 2018 version for my sister and last year I got the 2017 I have yet to find any differences as in the content. Iâ€™m pretty sure they are exactly the same minus the different cover. This is a very good review book. Using this I was able to get a 5 on my first AP exam, being this book.

I absolutely loved this book! It was clear and concise. I used this book to study a week or so before the exam and I got a 5! You must have a lot of dedication and patience however. It was fairly long but contained all the materials that are necessary for your success on the test. Plus, I recognized that some of the questions in the book appeared on the test in a different wording. Great book. You should definitely get this if you are taking the AP Human Geography course!

It's the first time in years that I've had that Ahhhhh! feeling from a night of restful sleep. About then I noticed the panic attacks, even the tiny ones were entirely gone.What else? Well, thanks to a serious collapse, my ADHD was so bad, I have short episodes of amnesia. I also supplement with phosphatidylserine(PS) and phosphatidylcholine(PC). I've found PS improves memory and recall and PC improves alertness and concentration. Using lecithin for my PC - I found it was short-lived (about 6-8) hours so I added alpha GPC choline which forms a reserve. I also use acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) which helps protect the mitochondria in brain and boosts cognitive endurance. I would like to use N-acetyl-L-tyrosine (NALT) - which is the version of tyrosine (an amino acid) that can cross the blood-brain barrier but *it does the exact same thing* as Adderall/Vyvanse. Taken together, I managed to burn myself out. But, unlike the Vyvanse, it doesn't give me panic attacks. My psychiatrist is stepping down the Vyvanse so I can switch to the NALT. Do not combine NALT with Adderall/Vyvanse. It's way too much.The combined impact of these supplements is impressive. I've gone from forgetting everything because my short term memory was close to useless to able to remember 16 digits in my head and add'em all up. I've NEVER been able to do this. At my best in elementary school, I could remember 5 digits and complete the addition with effort. Most of the time, I just gave up, used pencil and paper and then my fingers. Needless to say, math was never my best subject.5 stars for both the first and second editions of this book - I borrowed the first edition from the library. It has useful information that isn't available in the second edition.

BUY this! Seriously! This book was a game changer for my family. No two brains are alike and this book goes in depth and explains the 7 distinct types of ADHD (which I never even knew existed until now). We have struggled for years with my son's behavior as a result of ADHD and have tried numerous medications, countless therapist and diets all with no success. As a parent, it's absolutely devastating seeing your child struggle through life and you can feel almost hopeless when nothing seems to work. After reading this, I believe our son has the "ring of fire" adhd. We have since changed up medications and he seems to be doing much better. We are scheduled to get the SPECT scan on his brain next month. Wish us luck!

This book is great...unless you have ADD & canâ€™t concentrate ðŸ˜¬! It did help me understand for the first time in all my life that there different types of ADD. It also help me figure out what type, actually probably a combination of 2 types, Ihave which is great. I understand how to deal with them better. The biggest problem with the book is it is large and pretty technical/clinical. It is wordy. That is a hard read for someone with pretty sever ADD! If you do not have ADD & are trying to understand someone who does have ADD it would be excellent. If you are the person WITH ADD be warned. Personally, Inever finished it & jumped around a lot. Go figure!

I've owned Dr. Amen's original version of "Healing ADD" since 2005 and it has been life-changing. After seeing his PBS special and learning there was an update to the original "Healing ADD," I had to have it - and I purchased it tonight at the bookstore. (I entered the bookstore with the intention to read the new additions and then order off of Amazon for the better price, but there were so many great new additions to the updated version, I went ahead and purchased it - and no, it wasn't an ADD impulse buy! I thought it through, and decided I wanted to read it tonight and have it on-hand.)I'm 35 and I've had ADD (Inattentive, Type 2) all my life - and didn't realize it until I first read Dr. Amen's first edition of this book in 2005, at the age of 26. I immediately found the best psychiatrist I could find in my area (via a recommendation of Dr. Amen's clinic) and my life started to improve for the better very quickly. After a month of receiving treatment, I was in my first relationship (and I'm a good looking guy! I just could never follow through, and my brain simply wasn't wired correctly to even fathom forging a relationship with a woman before I received treatment).Here's the thing though - for as much as my life instantly changed upon taking a stimulant medication after my initial diagnosis, having ADD is an on-going battle. I don't mean to make it sound like it's something terrible - as Dr. Amen points out, individuals with ADD have many strengths - we're creative, spontaneous and fun. I've often thought if I'd "trade" not having ADD with someone who's never had it, and I'm not sure I would if I could - in some ways, having ADD lets you see the world differently than the rest of the non-ADD world sees it, and there are some fun aspects of having ADD. However, the drawbacks of having ADD make life impossible to manage, and treating it gives you the best of both worlds. I've found my creativity hasn't gone away after treating my ADD, it's only become more consistent.One of the most important things I took from this updated version is how important nutrition is, and how vital it is to eat the right foods for my type. As Dr. Amen points out, high protein diets are essential to certain types (but not all, and can be harmful to Type 3, Overfocused ADD). I was particularly grateful for Dr. Amen's listed foods that boost dopamine, and listed foods that boost serotonin.If I had only one quibble with this book, it's Dr. Amen's recommended medications for Type 7, Anxious ADD. In the very beginning of the book, he lists Strattera as a recommended medication for this type; he also recommends the medications desipramine and impipramine. However, in the chapter on Type 7, he doesn't list Strattera as a recommended medication, instead opting for Neurontin (plus a stimulant); and recommends desipramine and impipramine as he does in the beginning of the book; I found that a tad discordant in presentation.I also wondered why Dr. Amen didn't recommend Wellbutrin for Type 7, Anxious ADD. In his book "Healing Anxiety and Depression," Dr. Amen states that Wellbutrin "helps to activate the prefrontal cortex and calm the basal ganglia and deep limbic areas." Since there is often too much activity in the basal ganglia with Anxious ADD, and Wellbutrin helps calm the basal ganglia, it seems to me like Wellubrin would be a nice option for Anxious ADD. (Wellubrin addresses dopamine, and to a lesser extent, norepinephrine.)Since norepinephrine appears to be such an important neurotransmitter - especially in regards to anxiety and ADD, it makes me wonder why pharmaceutical companies haven't made more NSRIs. The only NSRI currently available in the United States is Strattera - or the other options are the older TCAs. Of course, you can address norepinephrine via an SNRI (such as Effexor or Cymbalta), but Dr. Amen doesn't recommend those medications for Type 7 in his book (which makes sense in regards to Type 7, as my research indicates that most SNRIs work on serotonin more than they address norepinephrine; addressing serotonin is helpful for Type 3, Overfocused ADD).As you can see, I find Dr. Amen's work fascinating - and it makes me ask questions. And if you couldn't tell, I also suffer from Type 7 ADD as well. :)I believe Dr. Amen is by far the most knowledgable person on the planet when it comes to ADD - and perhaps more importantly, he truly cares, and it shows in his writing. His first wife suffered from ADD, and some of his children were diagnosed with ADD as well. His voice is that of a doctor, a father and a friend.I wish you all the best in your treatment of ADD - and I encourage everyone to own a copy of this book, and refer to it as a guide whenever necessary on your journey with ADD.

The most comprehensive calisthenics guide i have ever come across. Advice on warming up, diet, plus a massive amount of exercises to keep me going!

About the Author
Durthy A. Washington is a writer whose area of special interest is American ethnic literature, with an emphasis on the works of black American authors. She holds a master's degree in education from the University of Southern California and a master's degree in English from San Jose State University. She currently teaches at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ernest J. Gaines is a writer-in-residence at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His 1993 novel, A Lesson before Dying, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction, was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and was an Oprah Book Club pick in 1997. In 2004, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Luke Daniels has narrated over 250 audiobooks, has been the grateful recipient of thirteen AudioFile Earphones Awards, and has earned three Audie nominations. His background is in classical theater and film. Luke has performed at repertory theaters around the country, but now he resides in the Midwest with his pack.

I like the suspense the author created throughout the book. The characters were well developed. It seemed to flow well as you were lead to the identity of the killer. There were plenty of opportunities to be mad at a character just to turn around and like them again. ðŸ˜Š

Saw this book hovering on the bestseller list with the likes of Patterson and Coben and had to try it out. Was definitely not disappointed! Very well-written book with some great twists and turns and a real nail-biter of an ending.The plot and characters are what you'd expect in terms of suspense/thriller stuff, with the police procedural angle that I just love, but what's unusual is that the story doesn't focus exclusively on a single detective. Very much an ensemble cast, which I think will open up a lot of awesome possibilities for future books in the series. The author handles shifts from omniscient to third-person point of view very deftly, and, best of all? There are some seriously funny moments in here to offset the sometimes grim subject matter.All in all, just a tremendously good book. I've already pre-ordered book 2.

If you like suspense and antici.....pation (read this book to get the inference) This is the scariest book I have read in a long time. I receive a free copy of this book and it is well worth a full priced paperback or maybe even hard cover, and that is high praise from me. It is that good. It is a thrilling, suspenseful , mystery, police procedural. I literally could not put it down. I love the characters and even though there are several central characters I felt familiar with them all and I found them believable. Except the reporter who tried to redeem herself at the end in a completely unselfish way. Not her style. Anyway, don't miss this great read. Pick it up and see for yourself just how thrilling this thriller is!

This is a wonderful first in series, and I've already preordered the second book.Omer does a wonderful job of creating a cop character that you want to understand and spend time with. Mitchell Lonnie is empathetic and compassionate, but also jaded and with a wry sense of humor. He's an interesting mix, and that keeps him fresh and compelling throughout the book.There are also some really cool secondary characters, primarily Rabbi Friedman, who add color and texture to the story without looking like a line-up of quirky characters designed to do that and only that.The crime and ensuing investigation are compelling, there's just enough dark humor for someone who likes a little funny with their grittiness, and the dialogue is spot on. I'm really looking forward to the second book.

This is not the sort of book where the reader can figure out 'who dun it' before the story unfolds in its own time. And to tell on myself, I did stay up really late one Sunday night to finish as I could not leave the ending for another day. Its a good story, that hints at the killers past without giving much away. The author uses characters that also appear in another series of his. I liked this angle, but the character of Zoe in this story felt a little off. Or maybe I should have read Spider's Web before reading the first Zoe Bentley book?The story could use some additional editing. Such as the potential witness who goes by Clover is said to be from West VA but a detective flies to Idaho to question her. Oops.

After a few good horror novels, it was time to change genres. I decided on a crime thriller, and Spider's Web was a good one. Glenmore Park has a serial killer, who sends his next victim a message with the murder weapon's picture, before killing them. Detective Mitchell Lonnie has to catch this killer before his sister, Tanessa, becomes the latest victim..Mike Omer has created a gripping new crime series, and I'm now hooked. Omer's research into police procedure was spot on, and the story was gripping. The cast of characters, from the police to the antagonist, was finely crafted. The action was realistically written, and this is one of the best police procedural novels I've read in quite some time. Kudos to Mike Omer for a great book..My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

What a good book! Recommended by Wayne Stinnett, great author in his own right, so I thought I'd give it a try. So glad I did! I like this type of book, and it started off good,and just kept getting better. Micheal, Taneesa, Jacob and the rest of the cops are shown to be very human. And now Zoe is in the picture! I have already ordered the 2nd book.

This is the first book by Mike Omer that I'm aware of. I read these out of order and this is my second read from him. The first book was very good so I expected this one to be great. Anyway it's clear that his later books are more seasoned. This first book didn't flow as well and the Character building wasn't as refined. However the story kept me coming back for more. The villain is really bad, although it would have been nice to see/read more character development. Anyway I'm still rating it 5 stars because I know a good book, and I'm pretty picky. I can see this being one of my favorite authors. I'm already looking to buy book 2.

These are all questions one asks when a murder is committed.Who did it?What was the motive?When did it happen?Where did it take place?Why...don't we have any evidence?All good questions....no answers.A complex case with an interesting cast. You really get to know the investigators on the case, and their individual strengths and flaws.
